An article in the Times over the weekend. Despite the state grant for the workshop being gone forever and cuts looming in this year’s state budget, we have a sense of optimism here at SU. Donna Stone is leading a community effort to raise $50,000/year to provide stable funding for the workshop program. We’ll be breaking ground on our new group home (paid for through ARRA funds and SU) hopefully in July. We also have ARRA funds to start a mobile shredding business, though we won’t be ready to go until summer or possibly even fall. After some hard years, even with more to come, perhaps, it took us a second to recognize that feeling: optimism.
