As termed by this article, the “reprieve” has been lovely for SU. This temporary catch-up of past-due state payments, coupled with a few beautifully-timed and generous donations, has allowed us to take care of some things in need of attention: paint and flooring for Fitzsimmons and Ralph Plumb, improvement of our garden area out back of the main building, some classroom supplies, and more community outings for our residents and also at day program, and replacing our 2006 computer server. We know it’s a long way to go before our state funding and payments become stable, so we’ll enjoy our brief moment. We know there are a lot of things we want to be doing on top of what we are maintaining, and will keep working until we get there.
